Takuma Asano has scored for Japan yet again – this time during their 2-0 win over Thailand in their World Cup 2018 Qualifier.

The forward, who couldn’t stop scoring for his country during the Olympics, chased the ball with his head before slotting it neatly past the goalkeeper.

The first goal was a stunning header from Genki Haraguchi.

Asano is currently on loan with VfB Stuttgart after he failed to obtain a work permit, which is a shame.

This guy seems like much more than the previous ‘no-name’ signings we’ve recruited in the past and it’ll be exciting to hopefully see him play for Arsenal one day. I really hope he doesn’t just appear into the Arsenal loanee black hole. He seems like a huge talent.

Japan are now third in Group B after two games with three points. Only Australia (2nd) and Saudi Arabia (1st) are ahead of them with six. As they say, there’s still everything to play for. Well, World Cup Qualification anyway.
