Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Michel Vorm, admitted that although facing Liverpool in the next round of the EFL Cup is great and all, they wanted to draw Arsenal.

Speaking to Talksport shortly after the draw, the Dutchman, who featured in Spurs’ 5-0 win over Gillingham in the previous round, admitted that although they’re looking forward to facing Liverpool, they were anticipating a North London Derby.

“It was quite funny, because we were watching the draw together, and we saw Man United v Man City and West Ham v Chelsea,” Vorm said.

“Then Arsenal came out and we hoped we’d play them!

“But Liverpool away is a great game – it’s always good to play against big teams. So I’m looking forward to it!”

This might be because last season we knocked them out of the Capital One Cup at White Hart Lane 2-1, thanks to a Mathieu Flamini brace (lol) and they want to get their revenge.

Well, no can do right now, pal. Arsenal have drawn Reading at home in the next round, giving us arguably the easiest clash and after our 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, our cup squad will be feeling confident going into it.

With the other clashes drawn, a NLD would have made it a brilliant round though, to be fair.
