The interlull is still in full swing but there’s still a few bits of news wafting around here and there.

There’s a lot of Mesut Ozil-based news coming from both him and the club. I wonder whether this is because of talk surrounding his contract? I don’t know but I like hearing about him so I’m not going to complain.

The German admitted that he likes LA and could perhaps see himself playing for LA Galaxy over there one day. He also shared a picture of him playing football with his pug on Instagram, which made me happy. It doesn’t take much.

Mustafi also said (for the second time) that Ozil was the person to convince him to come to Arsenal. Presumably he said this before he flew home ahead of returning to north London.

Chile have named Alexis captain and while he’s all excited, Chilean footballing legend, Elias Figueroa, has his doubts. The forward was also rated lower than Spurs’ Huge Lloris in Fifa 17. My condolences.

Arsenal have apparently overpaid for Granit Xhaka; Rob Holding said that playing for the Gunners was a dream; Mohamed Elneny is set to play for Egypt in the ACN; Hector Bellerin made a brilliant assist for Spain’s u21s; Olivier Giroud came to terms with handing over his title of ‘hottest French player’ to Griezmann; Nigeria want Alex Iwobi back for their game in October aaaand Eddie Nketiah signed his first professional contract with us.

In case you thought silly season was over: it’s not. Arsenal have been linked with a return for Roma’s Kostas Manolas and Yaya Toure’s agent says the Gunners and Manchester United have been interested in his client. While he is leaving City, he’s not coming to us. Oh no.
