Arsene Wenger has met with the press ahead of Arsenal’s game against Chelsea this weekend and it was a mixed bag of news in terms of injured players.

Olivier Giroud will have a fitness test before the game and it looks as if he could come back into the squad ahead of schedule.

Aaron Ramsey, however, is ruled out until after the international break as the club start to show concern over his hamstring that we’ve been saying could be more serious than initially diagnosed for a few weeks now given his history.

Wenger revealed that Ramsey had been close to returning a few times but it seems like he is breaking down repeatedly and the medical team are now taking it very carefully with him.

Ramsey has already missed more than 50 Arsenal games with problems affecting his hamstring or thigh.

In regards to Granit Xhaka coming into the starting lineup, Wenger simply said everybody deserves to start so he will make a decision closer to game time.
