Granit Xhaka’s older brother, Taulant, says that facing Arsenal with Basel will be a childhood dream come true.

The defender has faced his brother already during the Euros as he plays for the Albania national team whereas Granit represents Switzerland. However, facing the Gunners in general will apparently be a huge honour for the 25-year-old.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against his (and Granit’s former) club Basel, Taulant spoke about how he and his brother grew up playing football together after school until it got dark. He also touched on facing the Gunners.

“To play against Arsenal in the Champions League is a childhood dream,” he said.

“It will be special. We both go into it with the same thoughts; that we need to win and give everything.”

Basel have enjoyed some decent results against English teams, including wins over Manchester United and Chelsea, and a draw against Liverpool. Therefore, the clash won’t be a walk in the park by any means, even if it is at the Emirates.

Hopefully, Taulant can do the brotherly thing and not dive in for any rash challenges on any of our players. That would be nice.
