It was an Old Firm debut to forget for Philippe Senderos who was caught out defensively in the build-up to a Celtic goal and also got himself sent off in the second-half for a silly deliberate handball when he knew fully well he’d already picked up a booking.

Year after year, it continues to amaze supporters that Senderos managed to stay on our books for seven years and the Switzerland international was firmly put in his place by former team-mate Moussa Dembélé.

Dembélé looked threatening on the counter-attack throughout and made Senderos look silly as he cut inside the box and left the 31-year-old on his arse on the turf before cooly slotting home from close-range.

Then to make matters even worse, Rangers found themselves a man down in the second-half courtesy of a silly handball from Senderos as he attempted to challenge for the ball in the air.

It was a slight surprise when the deal was confirmed that took Senderos to Rangers, and he’ll be hoping for much better performances in future after a forgettable display during one of their most important fixtures of the season.

I wouldn’t bet on it though, sorry ‘Gers fans!
