Tony Pulis has turned down the chance to sign former Arsenal striker, Marouane Chamakh.

The cockatoo-haired striker recently went on trial with the Baggies after being released by Crystal Palace and Pulis admitted that he did have more of an affiliation with the 32-year-old after his time with the Eagles. However, apparently, there are other clubs out there who can offer him more.

Speaking recently, Pulis confirmed that the club wouldn’t be offering Chamkh a contract.

“We have decided against taking Chamakh and Sissoko,” he revealed.

“They have moved on and we wish them well.

“We’ve had a look at them and we’ve decided against taking them.

“They came in, and obviously I have more of an association with Chamakh because of the time at Crystal Palace, and he was fantastic for me. But there are other clubs out there who want the two lads and who can guarantee them more opportunities than we can.”

Poor guy. He wasn’t too bad when he played for Arsenal. When Robin van Persie’s leg fell off, the Moroccan was there to pick up the pieces and bang in the goals. In fact, in the first half of the 2010/11 season, he scored 11 and assisted eight. Those numbers aren’t too shabby.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be and now he’s knocking around trying to get a team to take him.

Let’s remember a happier time…
