No sooner has the new season started than PSG’s Serge Aurier has injured himself, potentially ruling him out of Arsenal’s trip to Paris in 10 days.

The defender, who is regularly sidelined through various injuries, sprained his ankle during PSG’s 3-1 loss to Monaco on Sunday and is said to be out for around 10 days so is cutting it really close to the Champions League match against the Gunners.

Aurier has already picked up two assists so far this season in only three Ligue 1 appearances, so if he can’t play, it could be a considerable blow to the French side.

PSG face St Etienne on Friday (9th) so the club will have more of an idea of the state of his ankle and whether he’ll be ready for the European clash four days later then.

From an Arsenal perspective, he’s a strong player and having him out of the PSG starting XI could be good for us, although of course we should be pushing to win anyway.
