On this day 20 years ago, Arsene Wenger was confirmed as Arsenal manager after a year-long stint at Nagoya Grampus Eight.

Little did we know what the former Monaco boss would not only do for our club, but English football as a whole.

Since joining us, Wenger has never finished below the top four, which, if you look at the managers before him, is an achievement that no one else had reached.

During his time in north London, the Frenchman has won three Premier League titles, six FA Cups and six Community Shields. He’s been in charge of 1125 games, winning 643.

He is and always will be one of the best managers to ever live.

Check out a fresh-faced Arsene when he first joined us.
