Wojciech Szczesny kept a well-earned clean sheet in his best display thus far this term as Roma stormed to an impressive 4-0 home victory on Wednesday against newly-promoted Crotone.

Goals from wingers, Stephan El-Shaarawy and Mohamed Salah, as well as a second-half brace for Edin Dzeko, helped Roma to a comfortable win.

After their narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina last time out, they were eager for a swift return to winning ways and kept a clean sheet, not least due to Szczesny’s fine shot-stopping when required.

Having dived low to his left, denying Raffaele Palladino from the penalty spot in the second-half, the 26-year-old was also on hand to stop another effort from close-range with time running out for the visitors to snatch a consolation.

His distribution from the back was accurate and faultless throughout, with his passing accuracy of 100% supporting this. He’ll be hoping for more consistent goalkeeping displays such as that one with tougher tests coming thick-and-fast, especially as the pacesetters in this season’s Serie A (Juventus and Napoli) have already begun to take shape.
