Laurent Koscielny’s overhead kick did more than break Saints’ hearts and liven up the stalling ones of Gooners everywhere, it also gave him a place in Arsenal history.

The goal, which we are pretty sure will be on a loop in the office for the rest of the week at least, was just one of a number of really important goals that the defender has managed to slam home when we’ve needed it most.

Saturday’s strike was Kos’s 16th in the Premier League making him Arsenal’s highest goalscoring defender since football was reinvented in 1992. He’s scored 21 in total.

That aint bad.

That aint bad at all. Let him stay as captain.
