Since Shkodran Mustafi arrived at Arsenal we’ve been looking closely at his passing stats given that he arrived with a reputation as a ball-playing centreback.

What often gets lost in that discussion is that Laurent Koscielny isn’t so bad with the ball at his feet either.

In fact, when we took a look at the stats post-Hull on Saturday they were pretty similar.

What is noticeable, however, is how much Mustafi favours the left where Kos, although covering right, occupies a lot more of the centre ground:

Mustafi also finished as the second best tackler in the game (4 out of 4), Kos made the joint highest number of interceptions (5), while Mustafi made more clearances than anyone else (3 out of 4).
