After Sporting lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League, Joel Campbell made it clear that although it’s not the best result, he wants to keep working.

The forward, who is currently on loan at the Portuguese club, only got brought on in added time against the La Liga giants. At the time, it was 1-1 and Sporting had led 1-0 for most of the match. However, Cristiano Ronaldo found the net minutes before the final whistle, putting the European Champions on top for the first time during the game.

Campbell will probably be feeling disappointment twofold. Firstly, at the loss, especially when it looked as if his team could leave with all three points just minutes before he came on, and secondly because he barely got a look in.

When he tweeted he wants to continue working, I’m sure he wasn’t just talking about his team as a whole but also him as a player, since the whole reason he moved to Sporting on loan was for game time.

Chin up, Joel. I’m sure your time will come.
