Arsenal face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening in the EFL Cup and while the Gunners are favourites to come away with a win, it’s worth looking at Forest’s stats.

Forest and Arsenal have encountered each other a total of 96 times since we were founded in 1886 (Forest were founded earlier in 1865). The Gunners have won 48 of these, while Forest have won 26.

Our biggest win over our opposition was 7-0 but that was back in the 1914/15 season, while they beat us 4-0 in 1957/58.

Forest’s form right now isn’t too good. They lost their last match and drew two before that. And their form against Arsenal is even worse – they’ve only won one out of the last five times we’ve met.

Former Gunner, Nicklas Bendtner, has now joined the ranks at Forest and he looks set to face us, which will be interesting. So far, he’s not had a chance to celebrate a goal in his underpants…
