Eddie Howe has publicly shown his belief that Jack Wilshere can be a brilliant player for Bournemouth whilst on loan with the Cherries this season.

Junior Stanislas’ excellent strike sealed all three points for Bournemouth in their second league victory of the campaign, ending Everton’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season in the process.

And Wilshere, who operated as part of a midfield trio alongside Andrew Surman and Harry Arter, has been praised for his efforts by the 38-year-old.

As quoted by FourFourTwo, Howe had this to say in his post-match interview with the BBC:

“Jack’s training time has increased, but the ultimate thing is to keep him fit, and if we can do that he’ll be a brilliant player for us. Everyone in the team has benefited from having Jack in there.”

Wilshere has settled into surroundings on the south Coast well, and although they were comprehensively beaten away against Manchester City, it was clear to many that Jack is eager to keep improving. His attitude to want regular minutes has quickly made him welcome in the eyes of most Bournemouth supporters.

“I loathe to pick out individuals but Harry Arter was absolutely outstanding, he covered every blade of grass and was hugely impressive. The midfield three allowed us to control the game.”

Wilshere himself played 75 minutes on Saturday afternoon and is edging closer to completing his first full 90-minute fixture since his standout performance in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City back in September 2014.

Injuries have meant Jack's progress has stalled drastically in recent seasons, but he was at his marauding best against Manchester City two seasons ago, with a goal and an assist to his name on the afternoon. | Photo: Adrian Dennis / Getty Images

He’ll be hoping for more consistent performances as the weeks continue, with both Arsenal and England set to keep a keen eye on his progress.
