Gabriel featured in Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and has admitted that he’s happy to be back.

The centre-back injured his ankle against Manchester City in the final few minutes of our pre-season win and has only just returned to action.

Although the Brazilian has admitted that he knows it’ll be difficult securing a first team place considering Laurent Koscielny and new signing Shkodran Mustafi appear to be gelling well, he took to social media to say how happy he is to be back playing for his club and doing what he loves.

Gabriel can never be accused of not being passionate and it’s good to see that although he knows it’ll be a tough slog trying to get into the starting XI, he’s still over the moon to be back.

I doubt the defender will be first choice against Chelsea on Saturday considering what we’re up against and the fact that Mustafi and Kos are finding their rhythm, but it’s still good to have players fit.
