Arsenal legend, Freddie Ljungberg has explained how togetherness among the Invincibles is how they showed the likes of Manchester United that they couldn’t ‘mess’ with their side.

Although Ljungberg, who is set to feature in the Arsenal Legends’ charity match on Saturday, didn’t get into specifics, in a recent interview with ITV he touched upon stuff that was happening between the Gunners and United players behind the scenes. He believes that Arsenal showing that they were a solid unit was what allowed them to be so successful.

Annoyingly, obviously United got the better of the Invincibles, since they were the team to end their 49-game unbeaten run, but it was nice while it lasted.

Many seem to believe that it’s our current side’s lack of this mentality that contributes to us not winning ‘big’ trophies anymore. Whether this is true or not, I do reckon it would be a good thing to have.
