The talented 19-year-old Atalanta midfielder, who has scored four goals in five Serie A matches this term, is a highly-rated young prospect with plenty of European sides interested in keeping tabs on his progress.

As we covered earlier in the week, scouts representing the club were expected to be in the stands with Kessié featuring against Palermo.

Kessié’s agent told Goal the following:

“They [Arsenal] were here in Italy to watch him. Arsenal are a good team but there are a lot of teams interested in him, so they’re not the only possible destination.”

Although it has been suggested Kessié would welcome an approach from Premier League rivals Manchester United, there’s no question that a number of other clubs have probably been scouting him too.

He’s got five years left on his current contract, which suggests any deal agreed with Atalanta would be a lucrative one – potentially higher than the €10m that Serie A giants Juventus were quoted with a possible January bid.

With that being said, there’s no doubting his ability. As a player who originally started out as a defender and moved further upfield, he has drawn comparisons to Yaya Touré for his bursting runs forward, as well as his impressive goalscoring contributions.

He’s the youngest player to have scored at least four goals in the top five European leagues this term, and with Atalanta struggling in 19th place ahead of their clash with bottom side Crotone away on Monday evening, they’ll do well to keep him for much longer if he continues to impress at such a high rate.
