According to the Express Sport, Petr Cech is ‘fine’ with Arsene Wenger picking David Ospina for the Champions League match against PSG – and why wouldn’t he be?

Ospina did brilliantly during the Gunners’ 1-1 draw against PSG but even before that, despite many being perplexed as to why the boss would pick our back-up goalkeeper for such a huge game, it became apparent that this was all part of Wenger’s plan.

Sure enough, after the match, Wenger spoke about how both goalkeepers knew their ‘roles’ at the club, which, to me, suggested that Ospina would continue to be our first choice for Champions League matches and even perhaps cup games, while Cech would be our Premier League goalie.

This would explain Ospina’s sudden change of heart when he was supposed to leave this summer but suddenly decided to stay. Wenger probably made him this offer.

The media then started to report on this as if it wasn’t a pretty obvious situation and they had some secret information when, in reality, we’d already worked it out – it’s just common sense.

What else is common sense is that, of course Cech would be ‘fine’ with the situation. He’s still technically number one and he would have also had to agree to his ‘role’. It won’t come as a surprise for him.

There’s no drama here.

Unless Cech is *air quotes* fiiine.
