Luis Boa Morte has said that Joel Campbell will be ‘better for Arsenal’ after his loan spell with Sporting CP this season.

The Costa Rican was shipped out on loan again and I’m not sure many people expect to see him return – if there was no space for him at Arsenal this season, will there ever be?

The player himself broke his usual silence to speak about how he feels that he deserved more chances at Arsenal and Boa Morte, who scouts for the club, believes that the move will help him get just that.

I’m not so sure.

“He’s exactly the type of player they need and he’s exactly the player Sporting Lisbon were looking for,” Boa Morte, told Arsenal.com.

“He’s got all the qualities to play for them and as long as he does well, I’m sure we’ll be the beneficiaries here because he’ll come back an even better player. That’s the most important thing.

“He’s really powerful when he drives forward with the ball on the right-hand side. He’s definitely a handful for defenders.”

Campbell signed for Arsenal in 2011 but is now on his fifth loan having previously played for Lorient, Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal.

When he finally got his chance with Arsenal he seemed to grab it with both feet but still couldn’t do enough to convince Wenger that he had a role to play in the squad.

If he hasn’t done it by now, it’s hard to see him ever doing it.
