Hector Bellerin has revealed how much he enjoys playing with an in form Theo Walcott, admitting that it’s ‘fun’ to play behind the forward.

Bellerin and Walcott’s blistering pace down the right wing is almost impossible to deal with going forward. However, this doesn’t mean to say it always works, especially when a certain forward isn’t tracking back as much as he should.

In recent games this seems to have rectified itself with both Theo and Hector linking up incredibly well.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Chelsea at the Emirates on Saturday, Bellerin praised his teammate and hailed their on-pitch understanding.

“Sometimes when you’re getting games regularly that helps a player’s confidence as well,” the rightback said.

“We’ve been playing together in the right side for the last few weeks and it’s a partnership that we both enjoy. We understand each other a lot and I think that shows on the pitch. It’s great fun to play with him.”

It’s good to have everything, including on-pitch partnerships clicking into place. Arsene Wenger has stated a couple of times that he likes pairings and while this was said in relation to Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla playing in midfield, it probably applies in other places on the pitch.

Gaining an understanding of who’s around you can only be a good thing. You get to learn their movements, when they need cover, when they need calming down. It’s not only great for the team as a whole but them as individuals.
