Takuma Asano had to watch on as he scored a perfectly good goal for Japan that was not given as the officials did not think it crossed the line.

As you can see in the video below, the whole of the ball clearly crossed the whole of the line, and not even by a little bit, but he goal was not awarded.

The goal would have made a difference, too, as Japan ended up losing the World Cup qualifying game against United Arab Emirates 2-1.

Japan took the lead after 11 minutes thanks to Keisuke Honda but UAE drew level just eight minutes later through Shusaku Nishikawa’s free-kick.

UAE, however, took the lead in the 54th minute frmo the penalty spot after former Manchester united midfielder Shinji Kagawa and Ryota Oshima fouled Ismail Al Hammadi in the box.
