Hang on, hang, we’re nearly there, we’ve nearly made it through the tedium.

If you haven’t found the last week or so that way, I applaud your ability to have a life away from Arsenal.

Here at Cannon Towers we’ve been doing what we can to cover what’s around, but it isn’t great pickings out there. Here’s what we found:

With the ‘news’ that Arsene Wenger refused to allow Jose Mourinho to sit beside him now passing into folklore regardless of its actual truth (perhaps someone will ask him about it at his presser in the morning), we took a look at the situation and explained why, if it was true, Wenger was 100% right.

It probably wasn’t, though. Mores the shame.

Alexis Sanchez has been talking about himself, claiming he’s as good as Messi or Ronaldo, so we asked, is he?

Olivier Giroud, slated sometimes just for breathing, has been speaking about his international future.

Eddie Howe dismissed all links that had surfaced saying he was going to replace Arsene Wenger, told us how they are having to manage Jack Wilshere’s fitness, and explained, again, what a boost he is to have at the club. He also spoke about how well Jack has fitted in in the dressing room at the club. Jack should get his debut against West Brom on Saturday at the same time as Arsenal play Southampton.

Speaking of players out on loan, Aitor Karanka has said that Arsenal should get a better Calum Chambers back at the end of his loan spell. That is kind of the whole point of loans anyway, isn’t it?

If you’ve been following the Granit Xhaka international saga, you’ll be delighted to know there’s another update, this time from his father who is demanding an apology for his son from those who called him a traitor.

Finally, Jose Baxter, who played with Shkodran Mustafi at Everton has been talking all about Arsenal’s new boy and it’s well worth reading what he had to say.

Everything else we covered can be found on our latest updates page.
