Arsenal have reportedly already opened talks with Jack Wilshere over a new deal after he spoke with Arsene Wenger before leaving to join Bournemouth on loan.

As he left to try and get his career back on track the media was full of reports that he had a falling out with Wenger while others claimed it was the beginning of the end for Jack at the club.

At the time, we called bull on it all.

Wilshere very much has a future at Arsenal and Wenger rarely rants at anyone, let alone a player who has been crippled by injuries that were outside of his control which are the reason he has hardly played and stalled in his development.

The report, which came as an exclusive in the Sun, so must be treated with as much scepticism as their other reports claiming a ‘tense converstaion’, states the extension will be for three years.

Quoting an ‘Emirates source,’ Daniel Cutts reports “Jack left because he wanted to get more first-team football to get his England spot back.

“He loves Arsenal and wants to remain and the club and the chats he has had with the club have been very positive on both sides.

“Jack is desperate to stay and prove himself to everyone what a top-class player he is. The experience about Bournemouth should serve him well.”

We can assume that this is not the same ‘Emirates source’ who told the Sun’s Neil Ashton, “Arsene Wenger told Jack Wilshere he is playing for his Arsenal future in a tense phone call before he left on loan.”

Of course, it’s easy to believe stories that you want to believe, but to us here at Cannon Towers, Jack signing a new deal and staying at Arsenal was always far more likely than him being sold.
