On Friday afternoon Arsenal announced that they had signed former Crystal Palace and Celtic goalkeeper, Alex Crean, a 17-year-old with whom they had recently been linked.

The player arrived at Arsenal recently for a trial and it seems that he has done enough to ensure Arsenal handed him a professional contract to bring him to the club to compete with Joao Virginia at u18 level.

So what do we know about him? Not much, truth be told. And after an age searching, not much more.

Crean started his young career at Crystal Palace before moving up to Glasgow to join Celtic in the summer of 2015. He then headed off to Bromley in April, a side who play in the Vanarama National League.

A Scot, he has represented his home country at youth level.

It seems that his Twitter account has been deleted, or, at the very least changed, but it’s hard to say if this happened before or after he signed for Arsenal.

I’m fairly sure it was his account as photos from it can still be found on Google, including this one of him in action:

Welcome to Arsenal, Alex.
