Arsene Wenger has admitted that he feels guilt and regret following Arsenal’s disappointing title run last season.

The Gunners came second in the Premier League but only due to some freak 5-1 Spurs loss to Newcastle on the final day. Until that point, we’d been plodding along, dropping points and not playing very attractive football, despite being favourites at the beginning of the campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Wenger admitted that he does feel guilty over our performance last season – we should have done better – but also acknowledged that Leicester City deserved to win it, given that they only lost three games (two of which were against Arsenal). Many people have hailed the Foxes’ team spirit pushing them through but they also played effective football.

The Frenchman also took the opportunity to have a dig at Spurs, claiming that you’d expect to lose the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United but not our north London rivals.
