Arsene Wenger admitted ahead of our match against Leicester City on Saturday that we have to address our defensive weakness.

Shipping four goals against Liverpool was not a good start to the season in any way, shape or form and although we managed to score three as well, this doesn’t erase the damage that was done at the back.

To be fair, with all our senior centre-backs currently out and poor Rob Holding and Calum Chambers being thrown in at the deep end, our fragility in defence wasn’t exactly a surprise. However, just because it wasn’t exactly shocking doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be fixed and, considering how strong Leicester were last season, we’ll be punished for making the same mistakes against them.

Speaking ahead of the match, Wenger acknowledged this. Although we beat the Foxes twice last season and were the only side to do so, that doesn’t automatically mean we can this time around.
