Although Arsene Wenge is unsure of how severe Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi’s injuries are, he did confirm after we lost to Liverpool 4-3 that they have hamstring and thigh problems.

This time, the boss didn’t try to sugarcoat anything. He simply stated that they were injured and that he didn’t know how badly because he hadn’t spoken to his ‘medical people’, which seems a little strange. Surely, when two key first team members have to be taken off the pitch because they’re injured, the first thing you want to check is if they’re okay and how bad it is? Saying that, I might just be sceptical and he legitimately might not have had time yet.

I find it hard to believe that he doesn’t at least have an inkling as to how bad they are, which doesn’t bode well if he’s keeping schtum.

Arsenal are already without Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, as well as Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil while they recover from the Euros, so losing two more stars in our first match is beyond unlucky.

Hopefully, we should know more about the extent of Iwobi and Ramsey’s injuries very soon.
