Arsene Wenger is said to be ‘hot’ on 20-year-old German defender, Lukas Klostermann, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham according to Bild.

The young right-back can play across the line but if Wenger is looking at him you’d have to think that he’s weighing up a move as a Debuchy replacement.

Currently playing with Serge Gnabry at the Olympics in Rio, the player is tied to RB Leipzig until 2018 with the Germans hoping to get him to renew after their promotion to the Bundesliga.

In light of what happened to Gabriel against Manchester City, this move is being spun as one of desperation, but it was always likely the club would bring in a right-back with Debuchy seemingly off to Turkey. Whether he signs for Gala or not, nobody thinks Debuchy will be at the club come 1st September.

Klostermann’s versatility will be a huge plus to Wenger, as will his age and mobility.

Costing the Bundesliga side just £850k in the summer of 2014, Bild report that Wenger is ‘hot’ for the player and has already made it known that he is interested in him.

A new rumour in the mill, we will dig into this more and see if we can find out just how true it really is.
