Serge Gnabry got on the scoresheet against Mexico as Germany got their Olympic campaign underway with a 2-2 in the early hours of Friday morning.

The Germans were trailing when Serge, on as a first half substitute, struck in the second half, just six minutes after Oribe Peralta had given Mexico the lead. Serge had been called upon when captain, Leon Goretzka, picked up an injury, and had to be replaced in the 28th minute.

The Germans then fell behind again, this time to a Rodolfo Pizarro goal, but Borussia Dortmund’s Matthias Ginter levelled with 12 minutes remaining.
