Valencia have reportedly opened talks with Valencia over signing Eliaquim Mangala as a potential replacement for Shkodran Mustafi.

With the Arsenal links refusing to budge and much being made of the player training away from the senior team with a ‘hamstring’ problem, the news that Valencia are trying to sign a replacement is good.

However, some City fans believe that Valencia tried to sign Mangala last season so this could just be a continuation of that interest (or they could have been preparing last summer for what they knew would happen this).

Mangala, who arrived at City just two years ago, has been listed as one of the players that Pep Guardiola is keen to remove as ‘deadwood’.

The 25-year old, could, therefore, be available at a decent price for the Spaniards which would hopefully make them all happy when they come to agreeing a deal with Arsenal.

I doubt it works like that, though. Shame.
