Sunday was Mustafi day if you decided to take some time off and relax with your family.

So, if you turned off your internet, what did you miss? Quite a lot actually.

Mustafi gave his first interview since it was revealed that we had signed him. He confirmed the deal, said Mesut helped him (quickly) make up his mind, plus told us how long he’s signed for and what he thinks of Arsene Wenger.

He’s a chatty little bunny.

We like that.

As for Lucas Perez, we also learned that Arsenal will double the wages he was earning with Depor, but that means just a £40k per week salary which is significantly less than many were expecting.

In other news, there wasn’t really any other news worth talking about. Nacho isn’t too badly hurt which makes a nice change for an Arsenal player getting injured.

Apart from that, we won, we signed some players and everything was looking a hell of a lot better than it was just seven days ago. Or even two.

We don’t ask for much.

After our win at Watford, we turned our Player Focus on Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil. We dished out player ratings and talked about Granit’s great balls and some other things we noticed in the game. Anita produced an absolutely stonking first wallpaper of the season featuring Granit, it was so good it went on all our screens.

In loan news, there were no minutes on Friday or Saturday for any Arsenal players (we’ll have a complete round-up of Sunday’s games on Monday, but Joel Campbell got his Sporting debut coming on with 23 minutes left as they beat Porto 2-1).

Gossip, and there was only one real story that anyone was talking about and that was Arsenal trying to sign Antoine Griezmann. It seems we really did want him but the player is happy in Spain and his family are settled. Can’t argue with that, really, can you?

And that’s about it. As we mentioned, it’s a bank holiday tomorrow, but we will be here so if anything happens, we’ll do our best to let you know about it.

Thanks for reading! Say hi! on Twitter.
