On Sunday, we shifted our attention over the Liverpool after they beat Barcelona 4-0 and, as always, delved into the biggest transfer rumours so you don’t have to.

Liverpool managed to beat Barcelona 4-0 on Saturday night, which, I have to admit, makes me slightly nervous. Jurgen Klopp is also feeling pretty bloomin’ confident ahead of their opening Premier League match against Arsenal and Thierry Henry reckons we should be worried. Saying that, they did pick up yet another injury, this time to James Milner.

We provided updates on how our Ladies are getting on at the Olympics; we celebrated four years of Santi Cazorla at Arsenal; Wenger spoke about Ramsey and how amazing he was for Wales during the Euros; the boss also praised Zlatan but, surprise surprise, the media twisted his comments to turn them into something negative and Arsenal u19s beat South Africa u19s 3-1 to retain the Durban International Cup. Nice one, lads.

Thomas Vermaelen arrived in Roma for his medical with the Serie A club. We’ve had an inkling this would happen for a little while and if it does it could be a brilliant move for him. Initial reports seem to point towards a two-season long loan move but we’ll see.

In other news, Arsenal are being linked with Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez. Apparently an unnamed club made a £71m bid and Arsenal are in the transfer market… so of course 2+2=5. The same media outlets also claim that we’re favourites to sign him, which we’re not.

Samir Nasri looks as if he’s been put on Manchester City’s transfer list, according to L’Equipe. Despite losing that holiday weight, Pep Guardiola sees him as ‘surplus to requirements’… ouch.

We also looked at the latest updates surrounding some of our bigger Arsenal transfer rumours.

Lacazette was taken off injured at half-time during Lyon’s 4-1 loss against PSG; Arsenal are still favourites to sign him.

PSG apparently still want Draxler, although Wolfsburg’s coach claims no one has made any approaches yet.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reported to be waiting for Valencia to find Mustafi’s replacement before making an offer.

Alexis trained up front and then played up front for Arsenal v Manchester City. We won the match 3-2 but seem to have lost Gabriel to injury in the final seconds.
