Moussa Sissoko, God love him, doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘subtlety’ when it comes to trying to get a move to a new club.

The Newcastle man has been open about the fact that he wants a move away from the Magpies because he wants Champions League football – not Championship. The club face-palming could be heard for miles around as he let the world know he wanted to leave, which means he’ll probably go for a lower price.

The 26-year-old then proceeded to talk up Arsenal in probably the most blatant ‘come and get me’ plea I’ve ever heard. We’re the club of his heart, the beautiful Arsenal, Patrick Vieira was his idol yada yada yada.

The most blatant, that is, until his most recent escape attempt following the news that Real Madrid might be after him.

“I hope Real will come for me, I’m still waiting,” Sissoko told World Football.

“If Real Madrid are interested in you then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player.”

Saying this, I think he might be confused about where Real play considering he went on to day he wants to player in the Premier League.

“I spent three and a half years here. I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else,” the France international said.

“I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That’s why I said I want to leave this year.

“I’ve spent a lot of time here and now it’s time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”
