Tomas Rosicky is set to return to his former club, Sparta Prague.

The 35-year-old was left out of contract with Arsenal this summer and, despite training at the Gunners’ training facilities this summer after picking up an injury at the Euros, he’s set to sign back for his boyhood club.

The midfielder played for Sparta Prague during his youth and it was the first senior club before he signed with Borussia Dortmund in 2001.

Coming full circle and signing for a club he obviously holds dear to his heart must be a wonderful feeling.

Although our Little Mozart still showed glimmers of the genius he always was, towards the end of his Arsenal career he was injured more and more, leaving him with hardly any time on the pitch. This meant, as much as we loved him, there was just no point in holding onto him. He wasn’t happy not playing, so it feels like him not signing a new contract with us was a mutual decision.

Apparently, there’s going to be a press conference announcing the deal this afternoon. We’ll keep you posted.
