Another pre-season win for Arsenal against Viking FK saw moments of brilliance from a few Gunners.

There were a few bright sparks during our 7-0 pre-season win against Viking FK. We gelled well and were rewarded for our efforts. It wasn’t the hardest game but we’re Arsenal so… a win is a win. Here’s how they got on individually.

David Ospina – 6

What can I say? The man likes to live on the edge. He didn’t have a lot to do but when he did… boy does he like to make us sweat.

Mathieu Debuchy – 6

The right-back, who’s been linked with a move to Galatasaray, was a little clumsy, giving away a couple of silly free-kicks. However, he also earned a penalty… which Santi failed to score.

As the match wore on, he did improve. He got forward more and made less mistakes at the back but he’s still no Bellerin.

Kieran Gibbs – 6.5

The left-back looked pretty sharp and linked up with the Ox and Elneny in midfield well.

Krystian Bielik – 6.5

The 18-year-old looks incredibly confident in the centre-back role. He’s far from perfect but he seems to be enjoying himself there.

Gabriel – 6

The centre-back didn’t really do anything of note.

Francis Coquelin – 6

The midfielder was pretty anonymous compared to Elneny.

Mohamed Elneny – 7

The midfielder dictated play well and even had an attempt on goal in the first half when Joel Campbell floated in a perfect corner. He didn’t miss the second time round though, when another perfect corner from Santi landed on his head and he directed it towards the bottom left-hand corner. Campbell was there to poke it home.

Santi Cazorla – 8

The midfielder made a tentative start after being out for so long through injury. He was rusty and it showed when his penalty was saved in the fifth minute. However, towards the end of the second half he received the ball deep in midfield and put forward a peach of a pass to Theo Walcott just to prove he’s still got it.

Sure enough, the Spaniard scored goal #2 in the second half and continued to dazzle, with a sublime pass forward to Campbell in the run-up to the fourth goal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7

The forward has looked sharp so far in pre-season and he was no different against Viking FK. He was quick, light on his feet and confident in possession. His crossing is coming along nicely as well. Fingers crossed he can keep this up going into the new season as well as remain fit.

Joel Campbell – 8

The forward’s corner delivery was spot on and he scored two goals! That guy never hides, he always wants the ball and never stops running – love it.

Theo Walcott – 6.5

As has become the norm with Theo, he was a little lacking in front of goal. He got in all the right positions but dithered a bit before shooting and kept overhitting passes he should be making with ease. This is presumably down to his lack of confidence at the moment.

Despite this, in the second half, he scored a pretty decent strike.
