Another day, another player (or two…) called up to represent their country during the next round of World Cup 2018 qualifiers.

This time, it’s Mesut Ozil and potential new boy, Shkodran Mustafi, for Germany.

Germany face Finland and then Norway in this round, which should be a reasonably straight forward job for the country who made it to the Euro 2016 semi-finals.

Obviously, we’re still waiting to see whether Mustafi will sign for Arsenal. Although Arsene Wenger is 99% sure it’ll happen, I still don’t want to jinx it.

Meanwhile, unfortunately for Hector Bellerin, he’s missed out on a call-up for Spain, who face Belgium and Liechtenstein. To be fair, the right-back was only brought as back up for the injured Dani Carvajal at the Euros and wasn’t played.

Santi Cazorla wasn’t picked either, which will always be a travesty but not a surprise.

On the plus side for Bellerin, he has been called up for the u21 squad to face San Marino and Sweden.
