Deportivo La Coruna’s Juanfran has been bemoaning the loss of their ‘best player’ after the Lucas Perez agreed a deal which will see him sign at the Emirates for four years.

Speaking to the local press, the right-back said, “Our best player has gone and we all have to take a step forward.”

Weirdly, the defender signed for the Hornets from Real Betis in 2014, however just a few months later he was sent out on loan to Depor. Returning to England this summer at the end of his loan, he was allowed to leave for free having made not a single appearance for Watford.

Anyway…

Arsene Wenger confirmed that both Perez and Shkodran Mustafi had both passed their medicals with the club but that the announcement is unlikely to come until after the weekend.

You know Arsenal, they like to make sure that absolutely everything is watertight before they make an official announcement and with a bank holiday on Monday in the UK it could even be Tuesday before we get the first images of our shiny new players in their Arsenal kits.

Rumour has it that we are also after one more player, but this is very much rumour at this point.

We’re digging and will bring you anything we find.
