Olympiakos are the latest club to be linked with former Arsenal midfielder, Mathieu Flamini.

The Gunners chose not to renew the 32-year-old’s contract after it ran out this summer and he’s since been looking for a new victim I mean club to latch his claws into.

Just days ago, the Frenchman was linked with Marseille. Considering he’s played for them before, it would bring his career in a full circle, which is quite nice. However, now, Greek side Olympiakos are said to want him.

At the moment, it appears to be the player’s agent sprinkling these rumours around. Flamini wants a club and if quite a few European sides want him, it makes him appear far more desirable, prompting other clubs to prick their ears up.

There could be some truth to the Marseille link, considering they do need to bolster their midfield, but at the moment it’s all paper talk with nothing to really back it up.

To be honest, the links are slightly comforting considering a few of us weren’t quite sure whether we’d seen the back of Flamini just yet. He’s besties with Mesut Ozil and goodness knows we need to keep that guy happy. Fortunately, our fears appear to be unfounded.
