Finally, Arsenal have signed Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.

That’s right, it’s finally on Arsenal.com.

The German centre-back has been linked with a move to Arsenal for weeks but recently, the media started to claim that the deal was off. Even Valencia’s manager claimed the defender was going nowhere.

Thankfully, this wasn’t true and Mustafi is now a Gunner.

The Germany international has been a key member of Valencia’s team over the past season and the La Liga team appear to have been dead-set on getting the amount they believe he’s worth.

Arsenal have reportedly signed the 24-year-old for £35m – a large but necessary sum considering we’re in desperate need of senior centre-backs.

Now that it’s over, hopefully Mustafi can concentrate on bedding into the team. He and Mesut Ozil are said to be thick as thieves so I’m sure the playmaker will take him under his wing.

“He is at the right age,” Arsene Wenger said.

“He has good experience. He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future.”

Welcome, Shkodran!
