Arsenal new boy, Kelechi Nwakali, has confirmed that the Twitter handles currently online claiming to be him are fake as he’s not on Twitter.

Speaking to Africanfootball.com, the midfielder said, “The truth is that I’m not on Twitter yet, I’ve been receiving reports that some persons have been using my name on that social media (channel).

“I’m not a party to either @nwakalikelechi or @kelechinwakali; they are fake accounts and I want the public to know about this.

“Everything is going well and I thank God for this, but I’m resting today (Monday) because of the on-going London Festival.”

We’ll assume he meant bank holiday.

Kelechi is expected to be loaned out for the season with a number of clubs interested in taking him for the season. Voted the MVP at the u17 World Cup in Chile in 2015, he plays in central midfield but can also operate as an attacking midfielder and sweeper.

Still only 18, his brother, Chidebere, plays for Manchester City’s u23s.

He reportedly cost Arsenal just under £3m.
