Roberto Soriano has revealed that Shkodran Mustafi is on his way out of Spain after Soriano arrived at Villarreal.

The German spent two years with Mustafi at Sampdoria and reportedly told Marca, “I was hoping Mustafi would help me adapt to life in Spain… and now he goes.”

This story has been all over the place in the last 24 hours.

Arsenal have had a bid accepted despite many saying they haven’t bid at all. They are also believed to have agreed terms with the player although they have not been inclined to do so with the Spanish side despite their desperation.

Marca believe a figure of €33m would be enough to land Mustafi and this is roughly the same amount that Arsenal have, in the past 24 hours, bid, not bid, and had rejected.

It’s almost enough to make you believe that many people actually don’t know anything at all about this transfer and are just playing a guessing game with the information that they read.

I know that’s what we do. The thing is, we read hundreds of websites and papers every day, searching thousands so we can best track where stories are coming from and how they are developing. We don’t just read one report and then make a guess.

Anyway, Soriano is a much more reliable source than 95% of what you come across on the internet so it seems as if something might be moving somewhere, even if it is making the Franz Josef glazier look like Theo Walcott on speed.
