According to reports, Valencia are lining up Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo as Shkodran Mustafi’s replacement.

Rojo only signed from Sporting to the Red Devils in 2014 for a reported £16m but the 26-year-old has been dropped this season in favour of a now-fit Luke Shaw.

The Argentine is bound to be begging for regular football, considering he missed out on most of last season through a shoulder injury, and being sat on the bench so soon after moving to Manchester must be pretty anticlimactic.

Obviously, as soon as any player is dropped, the media start speculating about a potential move away.

What’s more is that Valencia boss, Pako Ayestaran, has confirmed that the La Liga club have found Mustafi’s replacement.

Does this mean Arsenal have somehow not only signed the German centre-back but somehow managed to orchestrate United losing one of their players, as reports suggest? I’m not sure. Rojo is relatively new but Jose Mourinho seems to mean business. We’ll have to wait and see.
