Shkodran Mustafi appears to be edging closer to a move to Arsenal if the latest reports are to be believed.

On Tuesday, we caught wind that the German defender had claimed the situation between him joining Arsenal from Valencia was “difficult”. However, since he didn’t shout “no” from the top of his lungs while simultaneously setting fire to an Arsenal shirt, we’re pretty optimistic about the whole thing.

As we’ve already mentioned, Arsenal are thought to have made a £15m bid – only about £25m under what Valencia want. No big deal.

In other Mustafi-related news, the 24-year-old has apparently hurt his foot while training in England…

Whether this is actually true or just Valencia’s way of explaining a potential period of absence from the player, we don’t know yet but it’s likely at this stage. That way, if he does miss training due to negotiations or being ‘unsettled’, he’s ‘injured’ but if he doesn’t, the ‘injury’ was only minor and he’s recovered. No harm done and the fans aren’t any the wiser that their player wanted to leave.

Tactics.

We’re still not sure how this one’s going to pan out but it’s pretty exciting.
