With the new season just a couple of weeks away, Arsenal continued with their pre-season preparations by playing some actual football.

In what was a tough game against ‘vaguely psychotic opponents,’ Arsenal ran out 3-1 winners thanks to an opener from new boy, Rob Holding.

Speaking after the match, the player seems set on making a first-team spot his and with Per out of the side until 2017 and Gabriel being, well, Gabriel, don’t rule him out.

There was some concerning news when it was reported that Jack missed the game because of a knee problem but Wenger is confident he’ll be back for the next set of friendlies. I don’t even want to start thinking about how many times Arsene has been confident Jack would be back ‘next week’ but we can, at least, take some comfort that it is not his ankles once again causing the problem.

With concerns hanging over the full fitness of Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxalde-Chamberlain, scorer of a great solo goal, the news that Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez will be back in the squad for the Scandinavian friendlies comes as some relief.

In gossip, Arsenal reportedly bid for Bruno Peres and Hector Moreno who is injured. The Mahrez, Icardi and Lacazette transfers rumbled on with only the latter actually updating much despite a ton of reports about all three. Oh yeah, Hector said he was happy (again) and glad he left Barca. Think people will shut up now? Nah, me neither.

I’m expecting a quiet week as the squad travels back from the US, but, as always, we will find what we can and bring it straight to your eyeballs.
