The Arsenal squad have been joined by Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey ahead of our pre-season Viking match.

Our senior players are slowly trickling back into training after their involvement in various international tournaments. Alexis, for example, featured in Chile’s final Copa America win and Ramsey played his last game for Wales against Belgium in the Euros.

Both players have returned to training and are in the squad that’s traveled to Scandavaia ahead of our Viking clash and are therefore eligible to start.

As usual during a pre-season game, we’ll probably see about 67 substitutions and therefore it’s actually pretty likely that one or both could at least make an appearance, if only a small one.

The Gunners are now less than two weeks away from facing Liverpool at the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season and it’s likely that Arsene Wenger will want as many key men as fit as possible. Alexis and Rambo are most definitely part of his plans so if they’re not featured in this match, they surely will be in our final pre-season game against Manchester City.

The good news is that Alexis’ gammy ankle clearly isn’t causing him any trouble, which is surprised considering how nasty it looked after the Copa America final!
