Alexandre Lacazette was taken off at half-time during Lyon’s 4-1 defeat to PSG on Saturday.

The striker was taken off due to injury and the 25-year-old must now, according to Lyon, undergo scans to examine the extent of said injury.

At the moment, all we can do is take Lyon’s word for it, although there does appear to be unrest and that’s making me wonder.

Bruno Genesio, Lyon manager, claims that Lacazette hurt his thigh, saying, “He felt a pain in his thigh, he will have to undergo some tests.

“I’m worried about his injury because Alex is our leader of attack,” added the Lyon manager.

If we had to do without him for a long time, it would be a big handicap for us. The defeat over the injury of Alex, that’s a lot for us.”

While Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: “Lacazette has a hip pain. He must pass exams.

“Hopefully this is not very serious.

As much as I want to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon and side-eye the fact that they named two different parts, they are pretty much the same place.

Lacazette refused to comment about the injury after the match. However, this could have just been because he didn’t want to get asked about his future at the club, which he inevitably would.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are still huge favourites to sign the Frenchman.

Hmmm.
