After being linked to Arsenal back in May, the Islam Slimani rumours have come around again.

The Sporting Lisbon striker has reportedly skipped training in his attempt to force a move to a ‘top English club’.

Apparently, the 28-year-old spoke to Sporting boss, Jorge Jesus, about his situation regarding a possible move away and when he was denied, he refused to turn up to the next training session!

Sporting have since insisted that he was given permission to miss training but O Jogo are claiming differently.

The Algerian scored 27 goals in 33 appearances in the Portuguese League last season and is obviously clinical. He’s also only worth a reported £26m, which seems pretty reasonable considering the current climate.

The thing is, if this is all true, do we really want a player who refuses to turn up to training before he’s throwing a strop? Arsene Wenger would hate it.

If he wants to leave so badly, it’s far more likely that his agent has put this story out to alert other clubs.
