It’s been at least five minutes since Arsenal were last linked with Real Madrid’s Isco so this was to be expected.

The La Liga giants are reportedly gearing up to sell the 24-year-old after he failed to live up to the hype.

At Malaga, he was tipped to become a huge star, which is why Real bought him for €30m. During his final season, he scored 12 goals and assisted six, which, while not being exactly ground-breaking, was impressive for a youngster.

Since signing for Madrid in 2013, however, Isco has found it hard to get game time, particularly since Zinedine Zidane took over and although he racked up 149 appearances since joining, these are mostly as a substitute. In that time he’s scored 22 goals and assisted 35, which, on paper, sounds alright but considering this has been over three years, it’s not so good.

Why are Arsenal being linked?

Arsenal are being linked being we’ve been linked before and it’s easy to make the connection. There’s no other reason. Arsenal fans are craving a big name signing and therefore they’re going to jump at the chance to read something about us signing Isco.

We don’t need him and I highly doubt we want him. Is he a striker? No. Is he a centre-back? Lord, no. So, there you have it.

We’re not going to sign him.
