Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, looks set to send the rumour mill into overdrive as she arrives in London for a week.
While it is not at all clear why she is in the capital, it will no doubt be used to ‘prove’ that Arsenal are trying to sign the Inter Milan captain.
All along the media have claimed that Arsenal’s interest in Icardi has been merely as a backup to Alexandre Lacazette, a great way to make the Argentine feel the love, for sure.
But it seems that not even half this version of events are right with the press in Lyon saying that both Arsenal and the player are getting pretty fed up with the rumours as there is no truth in them.

So what about Icardi?
Well, the Sun claim the player’s agent holds all the cards but you can say that of any world class player so that’s not really an update despite being dressed as one.
Personally, their whole story looks like nothing more than a reason to post pictures of Nara in a bikini, which would be totally out of character for such a prestigious and non-trashy paper.
The infinitely more reliable (no sarcasm) Sport Witness reports that a few sites in Italy are claiming that talks between Arsenal and Icardi’s entourage have already begun, but I’m wary of anything suggesting Arsenal are in talks before Inter have given the green light.
The Italian site, Calciomercato, also claim Arsenal want to ‘get serious’ although how they know this I could not speculate, unlike many others who are producing ‘updates’ on this ‘story’.
